Patient on chronic antiepileptic therapy tend to develop vit deficiency manifestations. Usually oral lesion can be due to plethora of reasons and maybe completely unrelated to antiepileptic therapy as such. mouth ulcers can be easily treated by doing the following:
using a soft toothbrush to brush your teeth
using a toothpaste that doesn’t contain sodium lauryl sulphate, as this may be irritating
avoiding hard, spicy, salty, acidic or hot food and drink until the ulcer heals
• maintain oral hygiene by brushing twice, once in the morning and before bedtime • use clorhexidine mouthwash daily twice, you need to gargle 5-10 ml and spit it out. This will help ...more
