Apply ice pack to the area of pain.
Follow mobilisation exercises ie keep moving your hands and leg in some. Form of exercises to avoid stiffness.
Simple exercises can be done.

It is normal to feel like that. However you can give mild hot water fermentation in and around the operated knee. Do not pour water into the operated site. You need to do knee rehabilitation for next 6 -8 weeks for you to get back to normalcy. Until then you cannot get back to sports.

I had a partial tear of my acl in 2013, we immobilise the knee for about 6 weeks and got back to normal, I had a jump in 2017 where I tore the acl completely and underwent a surgery in 2017. Now, I have discomfort while running or squatting (with or without weights), I haven't been putting pressure on my knee from the past 4 months. I have been strengthening my hamstring, calf and hips during this time. I am willing to to whatever it takes to have my knee back in form. I have looked at stem call regeneration, chiropractic, osteopathy and physiotherapy, also tried asking an opinion from an orthopedic surgeon. Everyone is against the surgery and they support their services. And, the orthopedic surgeon suggests revision of the laxity of my acl graft and repair of the radial tear on the lateral meniscus as seen on the latest mri. I want to train myself and eventually run full marathons. I have been an athlete all my life and I feel purposeless with my current position. Please help! 25 years m.

Stiffness in knees can be quite disabling. Sitting in cross legged position and squatting should be avoided. Calcium suppliment can be taken without any harm. Use hot fomentation and diclofenac gel.
