Dear lybrate-user, may I please know if you are vegetarian or non vegetarian. Because unfortunately b12 can only be obtained from animal sources. However, if you are vegetarian but drink dairy products, then its fine.

If you have any previous reports share them with me. Anemia or low rbc or hb could be caused due to various underlying diseases. It needs a complete evaluation. As per your history it seems your brother has some malabsorption which is causing decrease nutrients absorption and less production of blood cells. But nothing could be suggested as 100% without proper evaluation. Text consult for the same.

Dear user, it is likely you are not consuming fat soluble vitamins.
If vegetarian, consume more dairy products.
If non vegetarian, add oily fish.
If your digestion is bad, then add himalaya bael twice a day.
Get adequate sunlight exposure on skin.
Avoid seeds and dry fruits as they contain phytic acid which depletes our calcium, vitamin d reserves due to their antinutrients properties. Consume amino acids instead of multivitamins. Get minimum 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.more

Try getting vitamin d through injection.
Also increase consumption of dairy products.
Get direct sunlight on skin.
If non vegetarian, consume oily fish.
