I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you.
Mastoiditis is a serious infection in the mastoid process, which is the hard, prominent bone just behind and under the ear. Ear infections that people fail to treat cause most cases of mastoiditis. The condition is rare but can become life-threatening without treatment.
Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.

For chronic otitis media, in homeo there r good remedies; but depends on nature/colour/severity of disharge, whether pain too present etc. If want to try medication, symptoms should be in clear way.

Smelling discharge is associated with cholesteatoma and mastoiditis. Hearing loss tends to occur earlier in the history with middle ear conditions, but later in external canal disease. Let's have a detailed discussion to ensure proper treatment.

Hello There, This issues is with my mother, she had one ear operation 23 year back by Dr. Raghav Saran due to water coming out and pain in Ear. All went well but after 10 years she start getting water and smells again, sometime its neck pain. We consulted 3-4 doctors and then went to Christian Medical College & Hospital Vellore and after test doctor said that she need to go for surgery once again because previous surgery got some issue thats why she is getting pain and water. We met on good doctor in Ranchi ENT specialist and he prescribed lot of antibiotic and tablet to make the wet ear dry for 3 months, it happens and then start again. We got appointment in AIIMS and they said no need for surgery go home, then to reconfirm we went to Dr. also said the same that no need for surgery go home. If want then do on your own choice. (May be they saw dry Ear that time due to Antibiotic tablet dosage) Now she is getting same situation that water comes out with smell and ear get wet, sometime its neck pain and sometime Ear pain. Can anyone please suggest from Doctors/ENT community, what could be possibility and what steps I should take. Also In delhi/NCR where I should Visit and if have to go for surgery then please suggest the best option with budget expected and complication possibility? Looking forward for your suggestion. It will be much appreciated. Thanks Again.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user i'm very disappointed after reading the story! Anyway, it seems to be a case of chronic mastoiditis as she is suffering from neckache associated with otorrhoea (discharge from ear). I advice you to try homeopathy for few weeks before going to surgery again. Several such cases are cured by homeopathic medicaments. If you feel interest then you can chat privately. I will be available to help you. Regards!

Ear pain is usually caused by an infection of the ear area, including outer ear infections, mastoiditis, or middle ear infections.
An ear infection (sometimes called acute otitis media) is an infection of the middle ear, the air-filled space behind the eardrum that contains the tiny vibrating bones of the ear. Children are more likely than adults to get ear infections.
Because ear infections often clear up on their own, treatment may begin with managing pain and monitoring the problem. S...more
