OA in both knees requires surgery but it depends up on how much it is damage so that you have to visit the orthopaedics doctor for clinical examination without clinical examination that can't be determined. So we advised you to visit joint replacement surgeon with x-rays of both knee and hip so that treatment course can be done.

Dear Radha,
Namaskar,
Adalimubab is a biologic drug, very effective in RA.......Ofcourse all the modern medicines do have some untoward and side effects.......but the treating Doctor has to titrate the dosage and choose the lesser evil out of Pendora of various drugs.... I am sure he will closely monitor the situation...There is no alternative treatment of this disease as for as scientific evidence is concerned.... Have faith and patience.... Take care.

Hello. I would not suggest steroids for longer duration for knee pain. They would decrease the pain but on longer duration will lead to myriad of problems including osteoporosis and other systemic multi organ problems. We need to look at the x rays and select a long term treatment which can decrease her pain but without side effects.

Knee pain can be cured by strengthning the muscles supporting your knee joint. Replacement is not the only option. Start quadriceps strengthning exercise. Sitting on chair and raising your leg. For 20 times. Slr, knee bending, foot strengthning will also help. Use some analgesic gel and knee cap for pain relief. Hot pack can also be used. For perfect knee strengthing exercise plan send me your x ray & other reports. You can send it to me in my inbox by going to my page on lybrate.
