Since you are young you can manage with conservative management
like physiotherapy and exercises. Wait until you progress and later you can decide about going for surgery or not.

Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. Stiffness might have developed due to weakness of the ligaments & inflammed cartilage. Specific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball
underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee.

Dear Khaja ,

Meniscus tear often leads to problems like Pain, swelling, stiffness and difficulty in extending the knee. Also intermittent locking of knee while playing and walking ,Also meniscus tears have grades 1 to 3 . Often grade 1 and 2 not required surgery and resolve by just conservative treatment all depends upon patients problems .
