I had a recent complete eye check up at a renowned hospital. All the parameters including retina where absolutely normal. There was only a small change in my eye numbers prescription. The number had in fact reduced by 0.5. On checking my eye pressure the doctor told me that the pressure was slightly high and gave me some eye drops for dryness. However, while doing the eye pressure check up, the bright round circle image which I was supposed to see in the machine has formed an after image in my right eye even when I keep my eyes closed. This image also forms when I slightly close my right eye. However when I completely open my eyes the image subsides. I can see the image whenever I blink my eyes. The concerned doctor who had done this test in the hospital said that this nothing to worry about and shall go. However, it is now more than two months since I had got my eyes checked the image is still forming whenever I close my right eye. Please advice.

Hello lybrate-user. You are taking medicines for diabetes. Diabetes may at times cause visual symptoms in variable manner. In case your complains are persistent, it would be a good idea to get your retina evaluated again. This would help in solving your eye complains. At times, even raised eye pressure could lead to symptoms of haloes around the eyes. Let me know if you require further assistance. Regards.

I am a 66 years male and suffer from knee problem. To shorten my question I may write that I was given PRP injections (three each knee) in Feb 17 and Doctor advised to wait for three months then extended to six months but no relief rather it further deteriorated as depicted in X-ray taken in Oct. 17.The doc had assured rather lured me of the benefits and I have read a lot of relief PRP causes but in my case it proved to be a hollow claim. I have read that before administering the injections following protocol is observed---- To take fresh image of knee--My doctor did not To stop taking anti-inflammatory drugs before injections -- no advice To see the image at the time of injection so as to ensure that mixture is discharged at proper location in knee---The doc. Had no such arrangement. No post injections advice was given like cold compress or avoiding stairs etc. I want to avoid knee surgery and presently I feel walking pain/trouble only but otherwise no pain. So pl. Advise of good ortho. In Chandigarh or around and also clarify had the doctor followed prescribed procedure then I would have got relief and this protocol is mandatory. I am healthy person 174 cms. And 73 kgs. REGARDS.

Dear sir,
PRP injectuon are effective only in early stages of osteoarthritis i.e.stage 1 or 2.
But in later stages the permanent solution is "total knee replacement"
So have a consideration about it &you will be a happy person.

Simple Knee ExerciesSpecific knee exercises will also help ie. Keeping ball underneath the knee and keep pressing it. That's the simple exercise which will help you to strengthen the knee
Ice therapy would definitely help to reduce the inflammation. We also advise you to use knee cap which would help to prevent the knee from damaging further and also to maintain the quadriceps muscle tone. At 45 years it is unlikely that the cause of your wife problem is osteoarthritis. Her diagnosis needs to be confirmed by a proper evaluation by a rheumatologist. Please meet a good rheumatologist before going in for ant surgery. This is because in case her problem is due to some other disease other than osteoarthritis then she is likely to have problems in the knee again EVEN after surgery.

Dryness is caused by hypothyroidism itself. There is a change in composition of mucous that is secreted by special glands in the conjunctiva tissue of the eye. She has to use lubricating eye drops on a daily basis at a frequency that depends upon the ambient temperature, humidity and wind factor. Generally speaking use drops for comfort and repeat when discomfort starts. Lubricating drops are safe and preservative free formulations are also available. Nepaflam has to be stopped after 3 weeks.
