Reasons: Mechanism of Actions: it relaxed bronchial muscles (small wind pipe muscles), but Infant's wind pipe are deficient in muscles, no benefits in Infants.
Main problems in Infantile wind pipe during severe cold/cough is excessive secretions which might be treated with Hyoertonic Saline under Pediatric guidance

Yes its very common in infants. If you are breastfeeding then its important to make sure you are not eating anything that is heavy to digest at this time for your baby like rajma, chickpeas, fried and spicy food. Other than that always make sure your baby burps after his feed. When he has gas you will have to hold and soothe him by holding him in upright posture and tapping his back to let the gas pass naturally.
