I am 45 years female with hypothyroidism (taking pill 50 mcg). Tsh, t3, t4 are in normal range after pill. My periods are irregular (since last year, otherwise it was quite regular). According to age and thyroid problem, what kind of contraceptive method would you suggest?

I have been taking thyronorm 25 mcg for my hypothyroidism from last 8 month and now I have decided to take treatment of homeopathy and I takes thyroidinum3x 2 tabs three times a day from last 10 days. Currently I takes both medicine (thyronorm 25, and thyroidinum3x). Please guide how I stopped thyronorm.

Heloo Mr. lybrate-user. I would like to suggest better to continue with your thyronorm only. U must need thyronorm for your hypothyroidism. According to my opinion do not exchange. Check your thyroid profile and adjust the dose according to your reports.

My wife 50 years is under treatment for hypothyroid since last 8 months. Her tsh was 15 at the beginning of treatment and now it is 10. The dosage of thyroxine tablet is 75 mg she is also taking medicine for bipolar and phyco-mania symptom. The bipolar and mania symptoms are not visible now. The current problem is, the joint pain, weakness, weight gain, piles/ constipation etc. (even though there is much improvement in sleeplessness and memory loss) now she wanted to sleep at-least 12 -13 hours in a day. So not able to do house hold works. Please suggest want to do now. Medicine taking, thyroxine -75 mg. Valprol- 500 mg. Olimelt 5 mg.

I have seen the details mentioned. Please understand when one is on adequate dosage of levothyroxine tsh is maintained around 2 to 4 mu/l and t4 is in the normal range. Then all the hypothyroidism symptoms will be well controlled. As regards excessive sleeping the drugs used for her other condition tend to cause more drowsiness. Your weight appears ok. First you have to confirm that thyroid is under control with proper dosage. Other problems may be physical or functional (psychological) eczema a skin disease is chronic but should not cause any above complaints. It is better you consult physician for proper clinical examination, related investigations, detection of any health issue and nutritional status, diagnsosis and appropriate treatment. Becadexamine is a good vitamin supplement.

Muje hypothyroid hai n wo normal h mene b12 report bhi karvaya hai wo bhi normal hai lekin mere hath n per m tingling hoti rehti hai to wo kis wajah se ho rahi hai aur wo dono hath per m ho rhi hai thode thode time m aur wo bhot jyada ho rahi h gadi chalte time hoti hai kuch bhi kam kro sone k time bhi. Pls suggest.

If you are taking allopathy medicine then it just brings the thyroid report normal.
It does not have any much effects on the disease.
Better take homoeopathic treatment.
It can cure it.

I am a hypothyroid patient for over 25 years and am taking thyronorm 87.5 mcg daily in empty stomach. The last tsh test taken in february was 9.5. I am also taking high bold pressure tablet telma 20 since two years. Apart from these I take clonazepam 0.25 on the advice of a psychiatrist for the last two months. At present I am feeling extremely depressed, very tired, heavy gastric formation in stomach. I consulted an ent surgeon. He first advised to go for a pure tone audiogram and the result was bilateral minimal high frequency sloping seriory neutral hearing loss. Thereafter I underwent brain mri and the report said few small foci of flair hyperintensities seen in bilateral frontal white matter, suggestive of leukoaralosis. In between I under went mri for lumbosacral spine and the report revealed changes of cervical and dorsal spondylosis. I always feel unsteady while walking and not confident without support. Please advice me and save me. Thanks.

Medications are 10 mg prednisolone, 200 mg hydroxychloroquine sulfate and 25 mg azathioprine. Taking 100 mg eltroxin daily. I am not planning. But my period get delayed by 1 week. Suspecting pregnancy. I want to know how to take mifepristone and misoprostol for termination. As I am already o n 10 mg prednisolone since 6 march 2020. Kindly revert as soon as possible.
