Statins are metabolized in liver. It can lead to increase in liver enzymes. You have not mentioned your Liver enzyme levels and neither the cause of their increase. But statins is a very good medicine. In mild cases a dose adjustment can be made. It will be best if your cardiologist takes a decision about the dose.

you should first start by controlling your diet. Increase fibres in your first and reduce on oil, ghee and butter. You also should do walks for about half an hour everyday.
Regarding medicine, you can take homeopathy to reduce cholesterol levels. Take cholesterinum 3x, of schwabe india, 1 tablet 3 times a day. Follow this for 3 months, and then redo the test.

Include fruits,green leafy vegetables ,salads in diet.
Drink plenty of water 3-4liters per day.
Eat Oats daily as it contains high fiber and helps in reducing fats effectively.
