•If your cavity in the tooth is caused by decay, your dentist will remove the decayed area and replace it with a filling.
•If the pulp inside your tooth is infected, you may need root canal treatment. This procedure involves removing the infected pulp and then inserting a special type of filling to seal the tooth and prevent re-infection.

If cavity is not deep or there is no pain and sensitivity in the decayed tooth then go for restoration (filling) but if cavity is deep or there is pain and sensitivity in the decayed tooth then first get the X-RAY done of that tooth and send me the X-RAY picture for further diagnosis.

As many people eat food away from their home, it may not be easy to floss or use a mouthwash to gargle. A great alternative is to chew a sugar-free gum immediately after eating. This is something that could be carried around easily, and could supplement the oral care routine. It helps reduce the risk of cavities.

Research has shown that chewing sugar-free gum for 20 minutes after eating or drinking can help reduce tooth decay risk by up to 40 percent !

Soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices should be consumed in a limited quantity because they are acidic in nature. Acidic food or drinks often soften the tooth material which leads to the dissolution of minerals into the tooth enamel, resulting in cavities (holes).
