The general methods of safety are the best. There are no food substances that can be used to avoid pregnancy. Select the method (from the various contraceptive methods ) which best suits you. Also go for regular health check-up to see that ones reproductive system is working properly and plan accordingly. Planning pregnancy is also important as sometimes it becomes difficult to conceive during later stages of age.

You either need to use a male or female condom before intercourse or your wife needs to take contraceptive pills on a regular basis or 3 monthly Depo injections or get a coil fitted. There is no instant medicine that can be taken before sex to avoid pregnancy.

It is always advised to use condoms or take birth control pills. Because those after pills always have adverse effects on the women’s body and are effective only when taken within 72 hours of intercourse. The earlier the better. These pills are available over the counter but should not be taken more than once in six months.

Men™s pill is under research only. Can choose between IUD or pills for women. Depends on many factors what's best for you. Can go for private consultation if you want to discuss.
