Home Remedies For Anal Itching: Procedure, Recovery, Risk & Complication

What is the remedy about?

Anal itching is a common problem that affects both men and women, although it is more common in men. Anal itching can be due to an underlying skin condition or due to internal medical issues. Excess friction in the anal area and excess sweat are the main reasons for the itching to occur. Though it can go away once proper care is given, in some cases a medical attention is needed. You can also try out these home remedies.

  1. Garlic
Garlic is the best remedy for anal itching and it helps in eliminating intestinal worms- one of the biggest reasons of this trouble. It also has antibacterial, antifungal properties and can curb anal itching to a great extent. To have this remedy, eat two to three garlic pieces daily for about a week. Alternatively you can boil little garlic in a cup of water, strain it and drink the juice.
  2. Coconut Oil
Coconut oil can soothe the skin and its antibacterial properties can treat the infections responsible for anal itching. Rub some warm coconut oil in the affected area, twice a day to relieve the itching and burning sensations. However, ensure that you wash the area later with clean water.

  3. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera has properties that can relieve anal itching. They also control the spread of infections and can keep the itching sensation at bay. Apply fresh Aloe Vera gel on the infected area twice a day. You can use this remedy daily till symptoms subsidizes.

Are there any side effects?

Do not use garlic in large quantities as it may cause irritation on its own. There are commonly no side effects while using the other types of home remedies mentioned. Do ensure that when you are buying the products; they are branded and of good quality. Always try using virgin coconut oil, as it would be more effective. Ensure that you wash the affected region properly after applying coconut oil as it can get sticky with the heat. When using the garlic make sure that it is properly cleaned and free of the outer skin. Though these remedies are extremely safe on your skin, in case of any discomfort, contact a doctor.

What are the post-remedy guidelines?

Stay in a cool place and avoid hot weathers after taking such home remedies. Whenever you step out make sure you have plenty of water. Try avoiding chemical based products and lubricants on the anal region while undergoing these home remedies. Also avoid wearing tight underwear for some time as the region needs plenty of air circulation. If you feel that there is an underlying medical condition that is the reason for such itching, seek medical attention immediately.

How long does it take to recover?

Once you start the remedies, you will gradually begin to see some benefits. But the actual recovery may depend on how serious the condition is. Severe itching cases can take more time to recover and in some cases may take months to get completely cured. The season also plays an important role- especially the summer months. Also do consult with your doctor about any allergic reactions you might have and avoid the causes. If there is no improvement at all, get in touch with a physician.

Are the results of the remedy permanent?

Whether the results will be permanent or temporary will depend on your body and skin type and the severity of the issue. There is no guarantee that this itching would not occur again after it has been cured, as it is unpredictable. If you live in a tropical region, you have more chances of getting this itch again and again - especially in the summer months. Sweat plays a major role in this too. Hence, try avoiding activities that exert you, have lots of water, change your underwear every day, wear cotton underwear and maintain basic hygiene.

Is there any training or experts required?

You don't need any training to deal with an anal itch, as long as you can follow these remedies carefully. Do take the guidelines only from a well-known book or a dependable website. Make sure that you use the right quantities as mentioned here. If you think the condition is worsening or not subsiding at all, get medical help immediately.

Effectiveness: High Side Effects: Low Time for Recovery: Medium Price Range : Approx INR 50 - 500 Training Requirement: No

Cold in Children - Home Remedies For Treatment
Hello, everybody, I am Dr Rahul Yadav, a paediatrician. Today we'll be discussing a very important topic with our home remedies related to children regarding cold.

So now, as you all know cold and chest congestion is very common among children and it might occur as many times as six to seven times every year. This is a pretty much normal for each and every kid. If you have a child you would have definitely experienced the agony of the child having cold and chest condition during any time during his childhood.

So, first of all, I would like to give you one piece of warning. A child with cold and chest congestion having sneezing, which might be increased intensity of sounds when the child is breathing in or out, signs of respiratory distress which might be increased, work of breathing increase rate or breathing or difficulty in even uttering normal words. In that scenario, you have to rush the child immediately go to the nearest doctor or to an emergency or hospital near your home. Another scenario would be if your child is suffering from asthma. In that scenario, I would advise you to take proper precautions and follow the instructions of your doctor regarding inhalers or nebulizers before trying any of the following home remedies.

So what actually can become very indiscreet. Home remedies can treat a child suffering from cold with no signs of respiratory distress with a few gurgling sounds while breathing.

Is it actually useful? Actually yes home remedies might even be better than medicines. Any common day-to-day cold and chest congestion. So what are the home remedies can do. One is the easiest would be to start honey. Honey has natural immune boosters which you can easily stage.

Can it be given to each and every child?

Yes, it can be given to each and every child but do not use it for any child less than one year of age. The reason behind it would be because of the incidence of bottling improxim in the honey which can be very deadly towards the less than one year of age.

You can even mix the honey with a little bit of lemon juice or ginger paste to make the child accept those Honey well. With honey you have to just pick up the caution in a case of a diabetic child and that you should not be over given the honey but in an otherwise, you can give the honey as many as times as you want. Maybe 1 psf every three to four hour. Another thing another home remedy that you can try out is humidification. Humidification can be done by either a cold humidification or humidification. Cold humidification is safer. Warm humidification is by the steam. Steam is very dangerous in a child as it can lead to burns also. So the better way is to close all the doors and windows of the house and thus put the steamer in one corner of the room and let the whole room be humid, that will help the child a lot. Another thing that you can do is to use normal sign nasal drops to keep the nostrils of the child clean. As the child's nose remains clean, the child will be able to breathe easier and would be much more comfortable and would even respond better to other measures. As you have to remember that cold in a child is ninety-nine percent because of viruses and that it generally takes seven to ten days for the treatment to average space and it's a natural course of the disease. So have to wait for that time you have to be patient. These are the common remedies that you can do which will elevate most of the symptoms that your child would be suffering from.

Anal Fissure
Hi, I am Dr Ashok Gupta, practising since last 37 years as a general surgeon, Laparoscopic surgeon and Gastroenderoscopist. Today we are going to discuss the most common problem that is Anal Fissure.

Anal Fissure is such a problem which is very prevalant in our community, may be the raeson of the pattern of the diet, constipation, inactivity, Obesity Diabetes and other inactive way of diet. Anal fissure is the breech in the skin which are there from the anal walls to the rectum in lower part. This is about 2-3 cm in size and this anoderm is more sensitive and lacking in sweat glands and hairs. Once the hard motion is being passed or the person is constipated, there occurs a breech in the skin which leads to severe pain while passing the stool sometime otherwise also. This linear breech is not going to heal by any chance, it mostly requires medical interference. Medical treatments are responsive at times but once it get failed, then surgery is only the answer.

The surgery is very simple in this case. We just relax the sphincter because sphincter always give the spasm to the fissure which is not allowing it to heal and it always gives the problem in later times. The surgery being done under general anaesthesia and spinal anaesthesia, just to relax the sphincter.

After the cure is there, so it is not going to create problems. But the complicated anal fissure has to be dealt with the "fissure act me" in which the fissure is being removed.

If you have nay query or if you want to contaact me, you can come to my clinic Tirupati Medical Centre in Malviya Nagar. Also, you can contact me through Lybrate.
