Hello, Thanks for the query.
Usually HbA1c% equal to or greater than 6.5 % is considered as diagnostic for diabetes. I am not sure about what different type blood (RBC) type doctor has said. Please mention the same. It is better if you get a Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT) t done, that will give a clear idea about presence or absence of diabetes. Then do come back. Thanks.
