Dear User, if your urine output is proper and you do not have any kidney issues then it is just thirst. I would suggest you to stay hydrated and probably add ORS and Coconut water too. They are rich in electrolytes and will keep you energetic. If this problem happens in winter, it is due to dehydration as you don't feel like drinking water during the cold weather. If you found my answer helpful, please leave a Positive feedback as it helps me with my Practice. Thank you.

Dear Ms. lybrate-user,
I guess the histology report on the removed thyroid nodule is benign. In that case the small nodule in the left lobe seen on ultrasound needs only annual follow-up. About 20 % of these nodules may disappear, 20 % remain the same for many years and the remainder show very slow increase in size. Continue your present dose of eltroxine and get annual tsh and ultrasound imaging of the thyroid done and keep us informed

I cannot prescribe about medicines as I am a physiotherapist however you can do exercises for the upper limb ie. Elbow and finger. In general during the recovery phase the upper limbs will automatically go for tightness / spasticity.

Dear lybrate-user,
you need to be vigilant for platelet count of your son. Get it tested daily for proper vigilance on daily basis. Ideally it should be revamped now but in case of further lowering, I will recommend to get your son admitted in local hospital for all supportive measures and for platelet transfusion if needed.

Initial treatment will be with medications like corticosteroids to reduce the symptoms. But many patients relapse after the dosage is reduced. Next line of treatment is a splenectomy which has a high sucess rate. And even if that fails, lifelong medication can be given to control the itp.
