I was earlier detected with tubercular pleural effusion in my right lung in the month of april of this year and was admitted in order to get the fluid out of my chest and later on was on treatment for 6 months with anti-tubercular drugs. And it ended in october of this year. My final reports were perfectly all right. My x-rays were totally clear. But from the month of november I have again started my old bad habit of smoking and consumed some beer too. I again started feeling a bit of uneasiness at the back of my lungs. I was curious so I did a x-ray which is totally clear but their only one problem which states that cost-phrenic angle is unsharp. I am scared that may be I am again going to catch tb which will result in effusion. I do not have any fever or any cough or any fatigue. My appetite is normal. And now I am not feeling any uneasiness in my lungs either. Totally fine. But what does it means that the cost-phrenic angle is unsharp? Is it the onset of another pleural effusion I am going to have later on? Am I again re-infected with the tb bacteria? I have stopped smoke g and alcohol completely also. Please help.

I was detected with right lung pleural effusion due to koch's origin. I was on treatment for six months. My chest xray were clear and normal as well my blood reports. I used to be a heavy smoker and I used to drink too. My treatment of six months antibiotic got over on this oct. For the last 1 week I again started smoking. I know its wrong but I smoke 3-5 ciggrttes per day. But I have stopped it from today onwards. Did I again did any harm to my lungs? Will my pleural effusion (tb) relapse again due to my 1 week smoking. I also consumed a few bottles of beer also. I am scared. I need help.

Smoking is bad in any condition smoking will not cause TB
but smoking make your lungs weak and that will catch TB.

Hi, I am 31 years old. I was diagnosed with Pleural Effusion in left lung in the year 2013, and was identified as TB. I had undergone pleurodesis (chest tube method), and ATT medicines for 9 months. Then, I was declared medically fit by my physician. However, chest x-rays still reflect pleural thickening (white patch in left lung), even after 3 years of the cure of disease. My questions are. 1. How to permanently remove this white patch in left lung (since I have to apply for visa shortly) 2. If, in future, the pleural fluid increase in left lung, how would I come to know, since white patch reflects anyway. Thanx in anticipation of response.

SOme patches are fibroid and ramin foe long . If you get effusion you will feel breathless and heaviness and it is not possible to get again unless you get TB and is not treated

Sir I already try natural remedies but not stopped. It is start automatically stopped after 3 days (hiccups). But the 3 days I was very suffered from this. Nausea, unable to breath properly, talking problem, acidity, stomach burn, etc past 9 months back pleural effusion is left lung. Thats why done pleuroscopy that is any infection problem? It is irritation of diaphragm and you may have to check up and decide on medication .Various agents have been reported to cure hiccups. Chlorpromazine appears to be the drug of choice. Haloperidol and metoclopramide have been used successfully. no more do not worry TB is a chronic infectious disease caused by Microbacterium tuberculoses the infection spread by the tuberculosis patients who discharges tubercular bacellinin his sputu!m or nasopharyngial secretions during bouts of coughing or sneezing. hence you have to take precautions not come in contract with an active tubercular pt.

Hello I am from dhaka, bangladesh. My mother (54 years) was diagnosed with lung cancer 4th stage (metastatic adenocarcinoma) one month ago. She was going through dry cough for like 3 months so further investigation like biopsy confirmed it's lung cancer. But we didn't rely on our country's (bangladesh) report. So we went to apollo specialty hospital, chennai, india an ran pet ct scan followed by tapping as she had fluid in her lungs and then again biopsy. This time during the biopsy, my mother caught pneumothorax. So the doctor admitted her to emergency and inserted a tube in her backside. They called it drainage system. This will let the fluid come out of her lungs along with air that entered through pneunothorax. They kept the tube for 3/4 days and then released it. Now the doctor asked to do the chemotherapy. I get scared whenever I hear about chemotherapy. Is it the only way out? will this chemotherapy be effective for a long time? I did few researches over internet about the survival rate of lung cancer patient and it seems to be very low. Now I will write you the comments of pet ct scan and biopsy. 1. Pet ct scan: a) hypermetabolic primary mass in lingula b) hypermetabolic pleural metastases with effusion in left hemithorax. C) hypermetabolic metastatic paraaortic with non fdg avid left hilar nodes. D) no other demonstrable metabolically active disease in whole body survey. F) imaging is suggestive of bronchogenic malignancy in lingula segment of left lung with nodal and pleural metastases (t2an2m1a- stage iv) 2. Biopsy report: a) biopsy from left lung mass: consistent with adenocarcinoma, grade ii: ct guidedbiopsy from left lung mass. So what do you think, is it controllable? it is very worse? I want her to live. What kind of chemotherapy would you suggest? apart from chemo, is there any other way to treat or control it along with the chemo? I heard there is some drug called terceva. Internet says it treated their fourth stage cancer. I don't know but I am seeking your help regarding this
