Less likely that it is cancer, but if it is reappearing then it needs to be removed surgically only. Final report after the surgery will tell whether it has cancer or no, but by the above history it is less likely to be cancer.

Dear lybrate-user- you definitely need to be alert as you lost your mother to breast cancer. The sebaceous cyst has no connection with breast cancer.
Please learn how to do a breast self-examination, and do it (after your period) -EVERY MONTH.
In case you find a breast lump please follow it up with a surgeon.
Please get a bilateral mammogram done every year. That should be fine to monitor your breast health.

It's common to have more than one cyst. Breasts are made up of lobules (milk-producing glands) and ducts (tubes that carry milk to the nipple), which are surrounded by glandular, fibrous and fatty tissue. Sometimes, fluid-filled sacs develop in the breast tissue; these are breast cysts.
In texture, a breast cyst usually feels like a soft grape or a water-filled balloon, but sometimes a breast cyst feels firm.

Hi lybrate-user, I appreciate you seeking help. Hormonal changes from monthly menstruation can trigger cysts as well as transient inflammation/ swelling of the breasts. However, breast cysts are usually benign. Usually, before the onset of menses, the breast tissue with the larger breast often tends to swell with some amount of tenderness/ pain. But, this is often temporary and resolves automatically. Should the pain be unbearable, you may apply an alternating heat and cold treatment for couple ...more

Dear user
asymmetry of breasts is a very common finding and need not be worried until the size discrepancy is too much. Breast ptosis is the term used for loose breasts. It happens either with ageing as the skin and fibres in body become loose or in very lean patients or with sudden weight loss. Mastopexy is the surgical option for loose or assummetric breasts; in this the breast becomes firm and also is lifted from sagging. Giving proper shape to breast increases the aesthetic appearance of...more

Hi lybrate-user,
going by your doc's diagnosis, there is nothing to worry as such. Cyclic fibroids, in breasts, are benign, transient and exhibit symptoms exactly as you describe. I would advise you to try avoiding caffeine/ products, sweets, chocolates, dairy products, alcohol, smoking, high calorie/ fatty/ oily/ greasy foods including fast foods etc all as they aggravate the condition. However, do include more of fresh turmeric, garlic, ginger, whole grain cereals, leafy greens like brocco...more
