A woman can have a brown discharge for several weeks, months or even years prior to the first period. This may also continue even after the menses is over. In some cases, brown discharge may occur a few times before the first period.
There could be various reason of it that may include ovulation, old endometrial tissues, cervical cancer perimenopause etc.
