Certain foods that are high in tannins, such as red wine, are potential causes of yellow teeth. Some of the most common causes of tooth discoloration include drinking beverages such as coffee, soda, and wine. These substances get into the enamel of your teeth and can cause long-term discoloration.

External and internal stains
coffee, tea and wine are all very high in chromogens, which all stick to our teeth and will produce noticeable stains, while nicotine mixed with oxygen produces a yellow result that settles into tooth enamel, turning it yellow or brown over time.

Dear lybrate-user, yellowish appearance of teeth is due to (1) deposits on teeth (2) thin enamel (3) calcified pulp chambers (4) pigmentation due to food substances/ medicines
every reason of causing yellowish teeth is dealt with separately. So my advice will be to go for teleconsultation on platform preferably video so that you may get appropriate remedial advice.

Hello lybrate-user! first and foremost thing is to determine the underlying cause of yellow teeth.
There can be many reasons for this.
1. Extrinsic stains caused by food, beverages and hygiene issues.
2. Intrinsic stains caused by fluoride in water majorly, any trauma to teeth or as age progresses.
Now, the treatment will depend upon the nature of stains and we have many options available.

Its highly impossible to remove gutka stains from teeth. Kindly consult a dentist in person advise deep cleaning, polishing, whitening (bleaching) procedures, artificial enamel filling or capping. Advance procedures can be done with laser. Use snowdent tooth paste for whitening until then. Apply snowdent paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min. Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results. You may consult me in person.
