One of my female friend is experiencing knee pain for a long time. After first event we checked with doctor, went for physiotherapy and pain went away. But suddenly after 2-3 months gap it occurred again. We took advise from many doctors. Some doctors diagnosed that it is chondromalacia. One doctor diagnosed that it is patella alta and recommended surgery. At the end we went to aiims after checking reports (mri abd xray) they said neither it is chondromalacia not it is patell alta. Also they said no surgery is needed. They ask us to go for mri again because current mri has no sign of chondromalacia. We are taking physio for more than 2 months. Stiffness while walking and pain while using staircase is still there. Sometime pain spikes suddenly while resting also. It looks like that it is not recovering.

Sir, we have many option for you - for your knee pain - go for janu basti, localised massgae with herbal oils, localised medicated steam, pottali massage. Continue these procedures for atleast 15 days.
These procedures will relax your knee muscles along with patella and give strength to your nerves and muscles of back. Also start some yogic exercises - tadasana, dhanurasan, halasana along with these therapies. These all would give strength to your knee and reduce the pain and stiffness.

Knee ligament laxity if you have problem in your legs then it might be due to ligament laxity where your legs would become very weak due to the old ligament injury and that should be treated immediately. Wear knee cap so that you will feel firm while walking or climbing stairs.
This is a general strain and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists ...more

You need to reduce your weight. As knee are weight-bearing joints, so they are affected the most.
1. Don’t rest too much. Too much rest can weaken your muscles, which can worsen joint pain. Find an exercise program that is safe for your knees and stick with it. If you're not sure which motions are safe or how much you can do, talk with your doctor or a physical therapist.
2. Do exercise. Cardio exercises strengthen the muscles that support your knee and increase flexibility. Weight trai...more

I am 30 years old. I had problem in my left leg from past 10 years and have consulted different orthopaedic surgeons but was not diagnosed properly. This year I have done my knee mri. Mri shows lateral subluxation of patella and grade ii chondromalacia and faint short grade ii tear is seen in posterior horn of medial meniscus in my left knee. Also there is rubbing voice of bones coming from my left knee. Also my xray reveals early osteoarthritis changes are seen on both sides in form of minimal tibial spiking with mild reduction of joint spaces along medial compartment. My question to you is (1) what is the treatment for my patella subluxation and grade ii tear (2) what is the the treatment for my osteoarthritis (3) can I reverse my arthritis thing (4) how did this patella subluxation happen to me.

If you have leg pain then you have to rule out the causes for having leg pain. First of all check your weight and your haemoglobin levels, as anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having leg pain though there are no issues with the knee joint or back pain. If not if the pain radiates down the back of thigh and legs then it might be due to sciatica. Kindly consult the nearby physiotherapist. Hope you recover soon from the leg pain.
Ice therapy would definitely help to r...more
