Platelet count normal is from 1 lakh to 4 lakhs. This condition is called thrombocytopenia which should be treated immediately or will lead to internal bleeding and if it occurs in vital organs like brain, stomach etc it is an medical emergency. So go for an expert opinion. In homoeopathic approach the cause of the disease is found out, ie. Altered immunity. Why this immunity is altered is due to the genetic constituional tendency of the child which has to be corrected with a medicine suitable for the child.

Dear Bhargav, Yes. Viral infection causes thrombocyto penia and asthenia. It will NOT go on for 6 years. Most viral infections are self limiting, meaning it will go away by itself and never come back. It looks, that your asthenia is due to a bipolar disorder. It might have been precipitated by a viral infection. Please remember that Lithosun has to be taken continuously even if you are well, to prevent future asthenia (depressed mood)

In ITP, the body's immune system, for unknown reasons, destroys healthy blood platelets. It also impairs the body's ability to produce platelets. Slowing the destruction of platelets is one approach to ITP treatment. Most treatments for ITP interfere with the immune system to help reduce platelet destruction. Some of these treatments are FDA approved for ITP and some are not. Many of these treatments are immunosuppressants. Corticosteroids: Often the first treatment a patient receives, corticosteroids raise platelet counts by slowing the immune system's ability to clear platelets from the bloodstream. 5 In fact, a positive response to corticosteroids can be used to confirm the diagnosis of ITP.
