Hello, Thanks for using Lybrate! I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. Treatment options generally depend on patient's condition and clinical symptoms and not based on the size of the stone. The size of your gall stone is a moderate, generally no surgical intervention is not needed unless you have pain and other symptoms. If you have severe pain that could not be managed with general analgesics (pain killers) surgery may be needed. Nowadays laparoscopic removal of gall bladder is preferred and you can get back to your daily activities with in few days. Prior to surgery a USG scan may be needed to assess the condition of your gall bladder. I suggest you to consult a general surgeon with good experience in laparoscopy and he will explain you regarding the various treatment options. As of now you can continue you pain killers. Hope this information helps. Wishing you good health.
