Hi, If she has gum problem then we need to do thorough deep cleaning for her first. This reduces the gum infection and could improve the overall health of mouth including bad breath. For sensitivity we might have to do root canal first and then go for crowns. The artificial teeth are completely safe and routinely adviced after Rct. I would be able to comment better once I examine her and also depending on any medical history.

The teeth is supported with an elastic fibers in the bone causes very little and not noticeable mobility of teeth, but if infection occurs around the teeth supporting structures like gums, bone and these elastic fiberes, the mobility of teeth increases to a great amount. This infection of teeth supporting structures are called gingivitis and it's advance stage is called periodontitis (in common language it is called pyorrhea). Saving your teeth depends on the severity of the disease, if teeth supporting structures are totally damaged, it is better to go for teeth removal. Yes artificial teeth are completely safe, you can go for dental Implants for restoring your missing teeth. The other option is dental bridge.

Hi lybrate-user The details you have provided seem to indicate somewhat advanced gum disease. Whether the affected teeth can be preserved or not can only be assessed with a clinical assessment supplemented with radiographs. If you have consulted a dentist and extractions have been advised, there is reason to believe that they would have done so after due condsideration. As for improvement of oral health from now on, get a thorough cleaning done. You might be advised further gum treatment based upon the actual situation; get that done as well. Make it a point to see your dentist regularly and get the necessary dental treatment completed. At the same time, discuss home oral hygiene measures with your dentist and follow their advise. As for artificial teeth, several options are available to most patients. Discuss them with your dentist and select the one you find the most feasible and it should be fine. Hope this helps.
