During spinal anesthesia, usually you will feel a small pin prick over your back (like an insect bite), followed by no pain at all. The lower part of your body will become numb to touch and pain, and you will also not be able to move your legs. But do not worry, you will regain sensation and movement a few hours after the surgery is complete. Spinal anesthesia is a safe procedure with minimal complications.

For you it is new but for surgeons it is daily affair, so relax. Spinal anesthesia is best and not painful.
