Last week my wife woke up with circular patch of hair loss resembling alopecia areata 3 cm in diameter, she had a panic attack a day before caused by the death of her Aunt, the results of the initial CBC came with anemia (HGB 114, RBC 3.79, HCT 0.333) and high CRP (90), high ESR (38), after testing thyroid hormones the results: Normal T3 (1.8 ng/ml), Normal TSH (3 mlU/l), High T4 (163.4 nmol/l), What is the possible cause of the hair loss? And does she need treatment for the thyroid or further testing (eg. Antibodies)? Thank you.
