I have three months old baby and I breastfeed him. 7 days back I fell ill and I ate very very little for 3 days. Now I am fine and eating properly as well I have increased my milk intake but still I am not producing enough milk to feed my son. I am already consuming Leptaden tablets since 2 months to improve my milk supply however in these days nothing is working. Please advise.

Dear Madam the milk secretion is very much dependent on psychological aspect. Always have a firm belief that to have your milk is a birth right of your baby and its your duty. If you become negative about milk secretion the yield will get reduced. Be happy while feeding. Enjoy the breast feeding. It enhances bond between you and your baby.

Dear lybrate-user, Taking these medicines may not show results so soon. It is better to take proper rest, rely on natural foods like those recommended by your grandmother to improve your health and milk for baby. Take jaggery and peanuts; dinka ladoo, jowari and palak etc. Most important. Keep positive mind. Your son will be happy on cows milk for few more days. No problems. But if you keep under stress, you will not produce adequate milk, volume and quality. Regards.
