I am suffering from hypothyroid since last 1.5 years. Taking 50 gms of thyroxine daily. My weight is gaining so much. I am taking balanced diet but still weight is gaining. Pl tell me what to do. I regularly going for walk almost 5 kms daily.

lybrate-user, If your height is 165 cms, then 62 kgs weight is not high. I do not see any increase in it. Anyway, if you are on treatment for hypothyroidism, then TSH should be maintained between 3 to 4 mU/L, for achieving good control. If that is not done, then all the symptoms related to hypothyroidism are likely to be back, or may not go away. So please check TSH levels and make sure those are maintained as mentioned above. Then efforts to reduce weight will be successful. Thanks.
