I am entering motherhood soon, just wanted to ask you if you don't mind. How ultrasound expected fetal weight has an impact on the actual birth weight of the baby. Meaning to say does it increases or decreases after birth? For example :- if ultrasound expected fetal weight is 3.5 kg +- 500 gm then what would be the actual birth weight of the baby after delivery excluding placenta and other weights. Thank you for your answer.

In a study ,a mojority of women had sonographically estimated fetal weight of fetus and subsequent actual birth weight with in normal range. Normal fetal weight range = 2500-4000 gm this result agrees with the range of normal fetal weight earlier reported in literature.
