Hi. I am 23 year female. I had a laparoscopic surgery for the removal of a paraovarian cyst. The surgeon only removed the cyst. The cyst was sent for histopathology. I am very scared. Please tell me what is histopathology and it's use? Can the cyst will be malignant. Please help.

Cyst is what it looks like to the eye and surgeon has removed it and sent for histopath test to look at cells not visible to the eye but under a microscope machine, to rule out cancer, to know the functioning of the cells. It will be more scientific and reassuring to you and to the doctor to close the chapter once the reort is normal. It is ready within 3 days.
