Hello, Can a doctor identify sciatica without the help of Xray and an MRI?

Yes by the symptoms, that extension of pain from hip to foot is sufficient to know that it is sciatica. But for conformation they will go for tests like mri to check weather there is disc bulge or spondiolyitis etc. Some little exercise along with homeopathy is the best, reliable and harmless way of treatment to cure sciatica complete.

A restricted slr (straight leg raising) test can make the clinical diagnosis most of the times. X ray and mris only help in deciding the level and severity of cause.
