I was playing with a puppy 3 days ago and suddenly he died that day. I was informed that he was having rabies. I was not bitten nor scratched but I don't know about his saliva contact. I went to hospital but doctors are saying that if you're not bitten or scratched then you don't need one. But I know that saliva contact can also cause rabies. What should I do? I'm getting scared.

Not to be scared did you washed it properly at the contact site? And tell about you had any vaccine previously for this? For further problems consult me personally.

Hi, understand your concern. Yes, you do not need to be vaccinated just by a lick of rabies infected dog. The contamination with the infected dog is always direct bite or lick on the open wound/scratch. If the skin is intact, there is no need to worry. Hope this helps!
