A street dog bite me on 25th april evening 8 pm. I prescribed for 5 doses of anti rabis vaccination and taken 2 doses taken. 1st on the day of happened and 2nd on 25th april. I advised by someone to approach rml hospital delhi for anti rabies serum injection. I gone there but after told him that I have already taken anti rabies vaccine in past 2006 they told me it doesn't required and also told me to take 1st 2 doses of anti rabies vaccination. Please advise me correctly.

"the immunity induced by a full course tissue culture vaccine persists for 3-5 years in a normal healthy person. Any re-exposure during this period shall necessitate administration of two boosters spaced a week apart. Or 0 and 3 (ijcp). No anti-rabies serum is indicated (immunoglobuline) up to five years following full dose primary immunisation. However consult a qualified doctor personally in such events. Sometimes in rabies, it is safer to over treat than under treat.
