My 15 months old baby was prescribed antibiotics amoxicillin for 8 days (faringitis). They found after the third day of treatment that the cause of the problem does?t need antibiotics, it is viral! they told me to continue the treatment any ways. Why if he does?t have the bacteria I have to continue giving him the antibiotic? How is this case stopping the treatment could cause resistant to antibiotics? Can I safely stop the treatment after 6 days? Thank you.
