I am 58 yr. S old. 3-4years back I mate with accident with no major injury. I had frozen shoulder after that which was taken care by physiotherapy. Now november 2014 I observed that once again I am having left frozen shoulder. Since then I have taken swd and physiotherapy but this time recovery is not even 30%. Doctor has asked me blood test for homocystine and vitamin d. What causes frozen shoulder and does it have any relation to thyroidism? please enlighten me for right treatment.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis is a condition in which shoulder movements get progressively decreased, it is commonly associated with diabetes although association with other conditions is also known. Treatment includes intensive physical therapy, short course anti inflammatory medications according to one's suitability and maintenance of calcium/ vitamin d metabolism.
