I am on fat loss diet, I know that low carb and high protein should be my goal, but I am very confused between different opinions on calorie content of boiled white rice (i know brown rice is nest) and wheat atta roti Can you please compare between two of them in term of calories.

It is really good to know that you are on a fat loss diet. Typically a low carb, optimum protein and good amount of healthy fats can help you with your achieving your goals. Why do you want to compare calories. Because" a" calorie is not equal to" a" calorie. For eg comparing rice and wheat, if you take 30 gm of each both of them have 100 k cal but their absorbtion rate is different. Since wheat has more fibres than white rice, the absorbtion rate for wheat is much slower than white rice. Hence white rice will give a higher blood sugar spike and insulin spike than wheat and excess blood sugar at one time always converts to fat.

there is a no much difference between 1 med cooked roti & 3/4 katori of rice. Calories content of rice is 86 & roti is 84. but whole wheat roti has a more fibre as compared to the white rice....
