Hi lybrate-user, fear of injection is seen in most of the pts we see and is genuinely a concern and a challenge for us. If you already have cavities and if it's not too deep then you don't need an injection for those. If you don't have cavities then make sure you maintain a good oral hygiene, like brushing twice daily, flossing your teeth and rinsing after every meal. Make sure you visit the dentist every six months for check up and a clean so that you don't have to go through the trauma of injections. Also request the dentist for fissure sealant placements on the teeth which will reduce the chances of decay to a higher degree. And in any case if injection is definately needed, gather your courage and request the dentist to numb the area of injection with a numbing gel, this will prevent the pain during the prick of the needle. Shud be ok after that provided the dentist does the injection very gently. Do t worry shalini these days we use needleless injections for pts with phobia to the injection which makes it even more comfortable. Hope I answered your questions lemme know if you need any more assistance and moral boost
