Dear the advertisements are not always correct. You would be needing some expert examination to see if it is because of decay or excessive brushing. Advise to have a dental examination done asap.

Hello, sensitivity is sharp, shooting type of sensation in teeth on contact of extremely cold or hot food which usually lasts for a few seconds and disappears completely after that and re-occurs again on such stimulus. Pain in tooth and sensitivity are two different problems. Pain in the tooth which is not getting less indicates a different and more complex problem which needs proper examination and treatment. If you have pain in your teeth and you use a colgate sensitive toothpaste (any of the sensitivity reliever toothpaste) there will not be any relief offered by any sensitive toothpaste because these paste can only reduce sensitivity and not pain. You can take a pain killer tablet like brufen 400 or combiflam for a temporary relief and consult a dentist for proper treatment to get to the root of such problem and accordingly take your decision. (note: pain killer tablets are also not solution because they only treat the symptom and not the cause of tooth pain. Also harmful for the body if taken for longer periods without proper supervision.) r

Try any potassium nitrate containing cream, that will give instant relief for sensitivity, so use it before eating any thing. And for permanent relief replace your tooth paste with" nafix" tooth paste this will take sometime but give you permanent relief. Or you can go to any dentist and ask for dental varnish application in that region. That will give you instant and lasting relief.
