My daughter is 32 years old. She has Hypothyroid and is under treatment for the same. Her height is 5'11" and her weight is about 92 kg. I have been trying for reduction in her weight, but of no avail. Fat has got deposited on her hips and there seems to be a very big curve from her back to hips. Tell me a remedy to get rid of the fat accumulated on her hips.

Lybrate-user, if she is on treatment with thyroxine tablets then to have effective control of all symptoms tsh levels should be between 3 to 4 milli units/ml. If that is not achieved, then efforts to reduce weight will not succeed. Alongwith correct dosage, there should be a dietary restriction. Her caloric intake has to be based on ideal body weight (80 kgs). It is better if joins a gym for workout under guidance and dietary control has to be very good.
