I am vegetarian and 23 years old. Height 158 cm and Weight 74 kg. I was in normal weight till my 13. Then after 3 to 4 years weight was increased to 70. After that its maintaining in 72 to 74 range. I want to reduce my weight upto 20 to 24 kgs. Please tell me the suggestions to proceed?

Hello Lybrate User, Please make these changes if you want to lose weight fast 1) Have small and frequent meals?it helps in increasing BMR and helps in weight loss 2) Cut down on sugar intake. Avoid mithais, sweets, icecreams, puddings etc 3) Drink at least 2 litres water in a day. But make sure not to have water immediately after a meal 4) Have more green leafy vegetables and whole fruits. Eat natural foods. 5) Avoid fried and fatty foods and foods with preservative such as samosa, pakoda, chips, namkeens etc 6) If you eat non veg, then avoid red meat and include more of leans cuts of chicken, fish etc. Don?t eat yolk. Have egg whites only. 7) Avoid aereated drinks and juices?even the fresh fruit juices. 8) Don?t drink alcohol as it has nothing but calories 9) Include more fibre in food as fibre keeps you full for longer. Whole fruits, vegetables, whole or sabut dals all have fibre. Try including more of fibrous cereals too such as dalia, oats, add bran to atta for making chapattis, brown rice etc. 10) Have good breakfast and light dinners. 11) Include physical activity like walking, swimming, cycling.
