What is a antipsychotic. I was prescribed trazine -h by a psychiatrist. Later now I showed to another psychiatrist who has prescribed risperidone 1 mg. On referring the net I found that risperidone is more advanced antipsychotic than trazine h. In this regard, I needed to know what is the reality.

sir, antipsychotic is the drug which regulates your thinking, perception and mood. also it may be used for various other reasons. The generation of antipsychotics just determines its time of invention of molecule - both of these are efficacious and good medicines. hope I have answered your Query.

Dear Salman, Antipsychotic is a type of medicine used for the treatment of psychotic disorders. Trazine h is an older (first generation) antipsychotic and risperidone is second generation antipsychotic. Risperidone, at 1 mg does NOT function like an antipsychotic. It may relieve anxiety or may enhance the action of other medicines.
