Hello Mr. Lybrate-user, in gestational diabetes one should avoid any type of refined sugars- like refined flour also, should avoid bread, toast and other bakery items too. Complex carbohydrates are to be preferred like- whole wheat, oats, brown rice. Advisable to have in small portions. Restrict the intake of oils and ghee too. Increase protein intake and veg.
