Dear Doctor, I am 42 years and I have an anal problem. For the last two months, whenever I go to the toilet I notice that a small lump of my anus skin come out and I have to push it back inside. I have noticed two tiny lumps on the side of my anus for years, but it was only last month that the lump became large. Whenever there is a bowel movement the skin of the anus (one side of the anus) appears swollen. Now, I am scare if the problem becomes serious. For your kind information, For the last one year or so I have being experiencing mild pain in my abdomen and passing more gas than before. I have no problem in passing stool and I have not noticed any blood in it. There is no pain or itchiness around the anus. Kindly tell me what the problem is? Thanking you.

It looks like you have hemorrhoids (piles. If there is no bleeding, then there is nothing to worry. Just avoid constipation and avoid straining at defecation. Take plenty of fluids, fruits and fibre rich diet. Avoid non- veg, fried and spicy food. Have your self examined by a surgeon at least once to confirm the diagnosis. Thanks.
