My haemoglobin, mcv, mch, haematocrit levels are low and rdw level is high. Do I have iron deficiency anemia. Also my eosinophils level is 1550/cumm. Do I also have hes.

Dear , thanks for the detailed description. We would love to have the exact figures of your hb, mcv, mch, mchc, and your rdw. However from the data given we can safely assume that you have microscopic and hypochlorite anemia. Which has 3 principle causes 1. Iron deficiency. 2. Thalassemia 3. Sideronblastic anemia. Please do a reticulocyte count and a peripheral blood smear also. Hes is a rare diagnosis. Most probably your high absolute eosinophil counts are due to intestinal worms.
