If a dog which I used to pet and feed died of rabies but it never bit or scratched me can I still contract rabies? If yes, can I take the rabies vaccine after 2 months?

Dear user ,yes take your full dose of rabies vaccine. Though rabies is said to spread from bite of rabid animal where blood comes out or exposure of saliva at your breached skin. But since it was your pet dog you might have missed to notice it. Ideally you should have taken it as soon as your pet died. But still it is never late to take the vaccine as india is a endemic country for rabies and rabies has a long incubation period. So my advice would be to take full course of the rabies post exposure prophylaxis. Thank you.
