My mother (48) had swelling near her eyes and ankles. The urine test indicated albumin 4+. But the kidney tests showed no problem. Should we be concerned? How serious is this? Please answer. (she does not have hypertension or diabetes)

Hi your mother seems to have periorbital edema which is a classic feature of kidney disease. What kind of kidney tests were performed? Dipstick reading 4+ indicates loss of more than 5gm of protein/24 hrs. It is very concerning and you should consult a nephrologist nearby you as soon as possible. Thank you.
