Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. Pain, paresthesia, numbness etc in thigh especially in outer aspect can be due to compression of a nerve which is called as meralgia, also it could be due to compression and symptoms from the back region. Initially you can start with: - physical therapy like tens - medication like pregabalin or gabapentin in small doses can be started and we can monitor the response - can also take an anti-inflammatory medication for some time especially if there is any pain associated. Let me know in around 1 week -10 days how are you feeling, we can get some tests to establish the diagnosis and also step up the medications as per the response. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.
