My friend was recently operated (ear drum, tympanum). Unfortunately the operation was not successful. The puss from his ear is still coming out with traces of blood stain (Cotton squab). What is his problem? Could this be cured?

Details in your query are extremely inadequate. What i gather from your question is that he might have undergone surgery for a simple ear drum perforation. In that case if the surgery was performed less than 3 weeks ago then due to oedema or a pack there could be some discharge which will settle down but if it has been some while now then visit the surgeon who had operated and get to know the cause for discharge. In any way even if the surgery has failed then not to worry it can be fixed.

How do u know that operation was unsuccessful? It can be due to secondary infection in the ear that can be treated by antibiotics and ear drops so consult ur operating surgeon to find out the cause and treatment of the same.
