My pet cocktail bird has diarrhoea for two weeks and losing weight but eating properly. He had swollen eyes and water coming from eyes along with diarrhoea before three weeks. Now swollen eyes is gone but diarrhoea won't stop. It has been three weeks now. And also the hair around my birds eyes is not growing back. What to do? I am also scared that when I keep my bird on my hand it's nails scratched my hand and skin peeled off little bit and blood also came. One time it's nails pierced my finger a little bit inside. Can it cause infection because it happened when my bird had diarrhea and swollen eyes. Please reply soon. Please anyone reply soon.

There can be several reason for this condition of your pet like bacterial ,fungal .if it scratched you and blood oozes out then you should need medical advice by a doctor because there are several infection which are zoonotic one and can be transferred to you. And for now apply detol and other antiseptic upon the scratched portion.

Actually u won't need to be scared if you had cleaned ur hands with soap, immediately after the spiercing of its nails on you. Diahorrea maybe due to worms inside stomach, the skin growth maybe due to zinc defeciency, is there hairfall all over the body of ur pet bird, kindly explain in detail.
