Allergy to some agent may also cause itching when treatment or cure of scabies has no relation to itching. In dry itching scabies skin lesions are not present. 1. 2 applications of scabicidal lotion applied one week apart kills both mites and unhatched eggs. 2. Takes about a month to resolve even after all scabies mites are killed. 3. Avoid sharing of belongings /touching other belongings. 4.cleaning of clothing, bed linens, towels, etc - wash at 60� c or store in sealed plastic bags for at least 4 days 5. Cleaning of surfaces, furniture, and objects - vacuum textile surfaces, damp wiping of floors and other surfaces, disinfection of frequently used objects 6. Minimization of transmission pathways- reduction of personnel rotation, canceling of community activities and, if possible of new admissions 7. Observation of hygiene measures 8. Avoid prolonged direct touching of the skin and belongings (clothing, bedding) of people who have scabies. 9. Put items that can?t be washed or cleaned in a closed plastic bag for 3 to 7 days to kill the mites.
