The Retina is located at the back of the eye and this part of the eye contains multiple layers of sensory tissue. The retina has millions of photosensitive cells known as photoreceptors which work to capture and convert light rays into electric signals. These signals then travel to the brain through the optic nerve where they are converted into the images we see. The cornea is a clear covering over the surface portion of the eye. It is very strong and durable and helps protect the eye from invasive dust, germs and foreign matter. The cornea also focuses images and light onto the retina, which then begins translating them to vision for transmission to the brain through the optical nerve. In total, the cornea accounts for around 65 to 75 percent of the eye's focusing ability. ? TIPS FOR CARE OF OUR EYES ? 1. Eat for Good Vision ? 2. Quit Smoking ? 3. Wear Sunglasses ? 4.
